Fibromyalgia the pain that never goes away.

About 4 years ago I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. If you have been too you are not alone, I know what you are going through. I am taking Lyrica which does not seem to be working for me at the moment. Enjoying the simple life seems to be more difficult for me now but I am at least trying. Do not give into the pain as an excuse to do nothing. Get out and at least walk somewhere you like to go, a museum, mall, your favorite store. I like to go down to the Ohio River front myself. A cup of coffee and a tow barge pushing down the river is relaxing to me. I have a theory about how I got it I may post that later on. I think is in environment and circumstance that caused it.

For those of you who do not know what this is like or is about be grateful. You may have a family member or friend that is going through this and may want to help though. This is a good thing, just keep in mind that nagging them to get off their lazy butt is not helping them.

Basically the person feels pain all the time all over the body. Mine is based in my neck and radiates out from there.. I feel that it when I am in the most pain is when I feel the fight or flight response is always on. Tension , aggravation, anger, and fear all rolled into one. The nerve endings are all on fire and your brain does not understand what is going on. Your nerve endings tell your body it is in pain all the time. Even sleep does not turn this off either, you would think it would. Lyrica causes dizziness and inability to multitask. Also you have what is called fibro fog at some points. I forget names and details all the time. If I work vigorously or go up and down a ladder it gets worse. Try shaking your head around for a minute or so then stop and do a sudoku or word puzzle. This is how it feels to me when someone asks me a question after having worked with some exertion.

I had to leave my employeer because they would not work with me on this. I am pretty sure that the American with Disabilties act could help me. I am just not sure that it is worth the hassle of going to court yet.

If you are going through this too I know all about what you are going through. Feel free to post and add your story too. Thank you and good luck.
